Attention Parents and Players
The following is the Jr. Bulldogs 'Under Age Player Policy'.
The Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Association requires notification in writing by March 1, of each hockey year, for a player to be considered to try out for an older age division for the following year.
Only players currently registered with the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs may apply to try out for
an older age division with the exception of those approved by the association.
It is at the discretion of the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Board to grant the player the opportunity to try out for the older age division.
A player approved to try out for an older age division must pay try out fees for both their own age division and the older age division.
The player must attend 50% of the older division's try outs in order to be considered for that division.
An independent evaluator will be assigned by the Board to evaluate the player's hockey skills and ability. A fee of $100.00 will be required from the player prior to the evaluation.
The Board must find that a player's hockey skills and ability are "EXCEPTIONAL" to be approved to play for an older division as an underager.
The Board will use two criteria in considering any requests.
1. An under age player must be rated on the older division team they are trying out for by the evaluator, as the #1 goalie, top two defenceman or top three forward.
2. The player must demonstrate to the Board that their hockey skills and ability are "EXCEPTIONAL" at their own age division. (Example: Top player at their position in the SCTA league). Statistics and testimonials will be required to support any statements.
The final decision for a player to be approved to play for an older age division is at the discretion of the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Board.
